GENERAL INTENSIVE SPANISH COURSES

Intensive courses are courses in groups in which purely linguistic aspects of Spanish (grammar within communicative

contexts, vocabulary, conversation…) are integrated with socio-cultural aspects of both Spain and Latin America; very

important in order to fully understand a language.

These courses are divided into different sessions depending ob the number of lessons per day:

 

We offer intensive course for all levels, from total beginner (A0) to proficiency (C2):

SPANISH A1:

Aimed at students whose objective is to understand and communicate in day to day situations: ask for and give

personal information, express likes and dislikes in bars, at the market, etc.

SPANISH A2:

Aimed at students whose objective is to understand, communicate and express themselves using simple

language in day to day situations: at the bank, health centre, social situations, etc.

SPANISH B1:

Aimed at students whose objective is to understand and be able to express themselves in general situations

where there is an exchange of information; able to express personal attitudes to familiar subjects or subjects of personal,

professional, academic or public interest and to talk about their experiences.

SPANISH B2:

Aimed at students whose objective is to understand and communicate with native speakers with a suitable

degree of fluency and confidence.

SPANISH C1:

Aimed at students whose objective is to express themselves fluently, spontaneously and appropriately; using

their Spanish for social, academic and professional purposes.

SPANISH C2:

Aimed at students whose objective is to express themselves fluently and appropriately in any situation, fully

understanding cultural and linguistic elements like a native.

 

  • Individual course (1 / 1)

LEVELS: All (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2).

1 LESSON x 60 MINUTES

STARTING DATES: All year round.

MINIMUM LENGTH: from 1 lesson

Individual lessons are organised according to the student’s needs and objectives. These are “a la carte” lessons in which the

student decides what to work on depending on their objective: oral and written production, use of grammar, increasing

vocabulary and expressions, improving pronunciation, preparing for an academic exam or a professional interview for a

Spanish-speaking company, professional improvement in language, business, tourism, etc. sectors.

You can chose, starting from 5 individual lessons, organising them to your own convenience and that of the school.

You can also combine these with any intensive course in a group or even, if you come with a friend or companion with the

same level, do a semi-individual course (2 students/ 1 teacher).

This course combines a General Intensive of 4 lessons/ day with 1 individual hour focussed on meeting your interests and

reinforcing learning. The daily schedule would be:

 

 


DELE PREPARATION COURSE (25 lessons / week) (1125 minutes / week)

 

(Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language)

This Spanish course is aimed at preparing for the various exams leading up to the Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language

(DELE – Diploma de español como lengua extranjero), official qualifications granted by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the

Ministry of Education in Spain to certify a certain level of competence and command of the Spanish language.

The objective of the course is that the candidate should pass the exam successfully, therefore the content is specifically

concentrated on familiarising the students with each of the tests involved in the exam according to the level: DELE A1, DELE

A2, DELE B1, DELE B2, DELE C1 and DELE C2.

If you wish, you can take the exam at our school, as we are an Instituto Cervantes Diploma in Spanish (DELE) examining centre.

 

COURSES IN SPANISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES (EFE)

 


  • Spanish for Business (10 lessons / week) (450 minutes / week)
  • Spanish for Healthcare (10 lessons / week) (450 minutes / week)
  • Spanish for Tourism (10 lessons / week) (450 minutes / week)

These are specifically aimed at students and professionals who work in a Spanish-speaking environment and need Spanish as

a means of communication in the business, health and tourism sectors or people who would like to work in these fields,

thereby improving their command of Spanish specific to these sectors. We emphasise lexical competence and communication

strategies for improving communicative skills.

Lessons take place in the situational contexts of business and commerce, health and tourism.

We are an examining centre for the Diploma in Spanish for Business and the Basic and Higher Certificates in Spanish for

Business, the Basic and Higher Certificates in Spanish for Health Sciences and the Basic and Higher Certificates in Spanish for

Tourism from the Chamber of Commerce in Madrid.

 

SPECIAL SPANISH COURSES

 
  • Spanish for Seniors (50+) (10 lessons / week) (450 minutes / week)

AGES: from 50 years old.

LEVELS: All (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2).

1 LESSON x 45 MINUTES

STARTING DATES: Any Monday all year round.

MINIMUM LENGTH: 1 week.

These courses are aimed at the over 50s who wish to start learning Spanish, or have already done so and want to improve.

Lessons are focussed on day to day life situations, necessary for both short and long-term stays in Spain. Spanish is practised

within contexts and on subjects of interest, necessary for living in our country and maintaining social interaction with

Spanish-speakers.

 

  • Spanish for Teenagers (20 lessons / week) (900 minutes / week)

SPANISH IMMERSION PROGRAM

AGES: between 13 & 17 years old.

LEVELS: All (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2).

1 LESSON x 45 MINUTES

STARTING DATES: July & August.

MINIMUM LENGTH: 2, 3 or 4 weeks.

The Intensive course for teenagers is integrated within an immersion program which also includes:

  1. Accommodation with a family, full board (3 meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner) in a double room.

  2. Return transfer to and from Malaga Airport.

  3. Daily program of activities.

  4. 1,2 or 3 weekend trips (for stays of 2,3 and 4 weeks respectively)

  5. Monitor with 24 hour emergency telephone contact.

The daily course schedule is the same as for the General Intensive with 4 lessons/ day. The difference is that this course is

designed for young people between 13 and 17 years old, lessons are lighter and more fun; we use materials adapted for the

age-group, games, focus on oral skills, etc.

Lessons are always in the morning (before lunch), either 9.00 – 12.30 or 11.00 – 14.15.

Small groups create a close student- teacher relationship, making learning Spanish more natural and spontaneous.



  • PROFELEX Courses

(ELE Teacher Training for non native speakers)

 The Spanish as a foreign language teacher training course lasts two weeks, with 4 lessons a day and is offered not only to

Spanish teachers, but also to students who would like to become one. There are three to choose from, depending on the

participant’s needs.

PROFELEX 1 Course for improving linguistic competence in Spanish

This course is mainly aimed at primary and secondary teachers with a B1-B2 level of Spanish who therefore wish to improve

and advance their grammatical, lexical, communicative, etc. knowledge in written and oral production. The daily schedule for

this course is the same as for the General Intensive Course, with 4 lessons/ day for B1-B2 level.

PROFELEX 2. Course for improving linguistic competence in Spanish and basic procedures for teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

This course is aimed at future ELE (Spanish as a foreign language) teachers with a B2-C1 level who need to: improve their

grammatical, lexical, communicative, etc. skills and knowledge plus gain an introduction to didactics and teaching-learning

strategies. The daily schedule is as follows:

PROFELEX 3: Didactic course for teaching-learning Spanish as a foreign language and improving socio-cultural knowledge

This course is aimed at teachers with a C2 level who wish to improve, learn and carry out strategies for teaching-learning

Spanish as a foreign language. There are no linguistic components. Students will study cultural, traditional and current

aspects of Spain and Latin America in depth. The daily schedule is:

  • PROFELE Courses

Our PROFELE Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) teacher training course is aimed at native speakers (and non-natives with a

minimum level of C1) and it combines the practical study of communicative ELE (Spanish as a foreign language) learning

strategies with direct teaching practice, applying previously acquired methodological knowledge.

For the teacher who is just starting it is a clear, precise, practical training program; for those who need refreshing, or to gain

experience, it is a didactic course which will bring you up to date with new aspects of communicative methodologies.

We have developed a theory-practice program with the objective of delivering a didactic experience which will professionally

facilitate future work in the ELE (Spanish as a foreign language) sector.

These courses are designed for people who live in and around Almuñecar and who want to learn or improve their Spanish to

communicate in shops, restaurants and other day to day situations in this town.

These are extensive, with lessons on 2 days a week and a minimum length of 4 weeks.

Lessons are interactive and focussed on day to day practical situations.

 

  • Online Spanish course

MINIMUM LEVEL: A2.

These are individual lessons aimed mainly at past students who, once home, wish to:

  • Etc.

You just need a computer with internet connection, webcam and microphone.
